The redevelopment of an industrial site in Walthamstow is to bring almost 200 new homes to the area.
Waltham Forest Council’s planning committee approved plans lodged by Metropolitan & Suburban on 12 April 2016, for the 0.6-ha Essex Brewery site on Brunner Road in South Grove.
Plans involve the demolition of buildings and the delivery of 183 new homes, along with commercial and amenity space, car and cycle parking.
The new properties will be located in a five to seven-storey stepped building and a four to eight-storey U-shaped structure.
The scheme will also provide 478sq m of commercial space, split among three units.
Currently, the site is mainly occupied by a two-storey warehouse, containing light industrial units, as well as a surgery and a church.
