Planning permission has been granted for 79 homes in Leytonstone.
Waltham Forest’s planning committee granted approval to housing group Family Mosaic for the Union Close scheme on 12 April 2016.
Plans, designed by Alan Camp Architects, involve the construction of three buildings from two to four storeys containing 63 flats and 16 terraced houses with private gardens. At least 24 units will be allocated as affordable.
The 0.76-ha site once formed part of Langthorne Hospital and consists of two buildings, currently vacant and surrounded by open land.
The existing structures will be demolished to make room for the new homes, cycle and car parking spaces, green areas and public spaces.
